We found her on the streets of a small town along the Aegean coast — thin, limping, and alone. We'd just come through a loss neither of us was ready for, the kind that leaves a house feeling too quiet. We weren't looking for a dog. But the moment we saw her, that stopped mattering.

We arranged a pet taxi to bring her hundreds of miles home, tracking her GPS pin the whole way. She arrived vaccinated, checked over, and safe — the first pet either of us had had in 26 years together.

"She didn't come with papers. She came with a limp, a tracked route across the country, and everything we needed to know."

What we didn't know yet: one of her paws had been crushed and healed wrong. She limped. She needed laser therapy, an MRI, and months of rehab — real science, real patience — before she could run again.

That question became moudist.
